Introduction to the Zerotech dobby
Getting into a new hobby can be intimidating. Especially one as expensive as drones. However, in this Zerotech Dobby review, we hope to put your nerves at ease.
But does this meticulously crafted image make the Dobby a reliable and enjoyable drone to use?
Let’s take a look.
Who Is Zerotech?
Founded a decade ago in China, Zerotech’s first product was a fixed-wing drone by the name of Blue Eagle.
Since then, they have grown into a successful company that develops smart drones and smart UAV.
Specializing in UAV technology like flight controllers, gimbals, HD video transmission, and electronic image stabilizers.
With a company motto encouraging them to “be smart” and to “be innovative”, Zerotech has now opened themselves to developing drones for both commercial and professiodronal use.
Their products have been used in a variety of fields, including those of security, agriculture, inspection of power lines, and even scientific research.
Like a lot of companies in today’s modern world, the company uses social media to stay well-connected with their consumers.
They have pages on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. They have the link for a Twitter page on their website, but it gives an error message when you click on it.
All in all, Zerotech is a very experienced drone company that presents itself as both professional and in-touch with their consumers.
Zerotech dobby Description
And I mean small.
Though built with the intention of being capable of shooting professional quality photos, Zerotech Dobby is often advertised as something you can launch from the palm of your hand.
Yeah, it is that kind of pocket sized drone.
But its small size has not compromised its efficiency. Here are some of it’s most advertised features:
- 1080HD Built-in Camera that Transmits 4K Image
- Camera with Face Recognition Feature
- One Key Takeoff/Landing Function
- One Key Short Movie Function
- Target Tracking Shooting Function
- Orbit Shooting Function
- Dual Satellite Position
It’s important to note that the Zerotech Dobby doesn’t come with a controller, so you’ll have to pilot the Zerotech Dobby through your smartphone.
To some, this might be a big point in favor of this unit, while to others it’s very much the opposite.
This is something to keep in mind prior to purchase, regardless if you have a strong position or no preference at all when it comes this issue.
Zerotech Dobby Battery
Even those who have had nothing but wonderful experiences flying the Zerotech Dobby had issues and complaints about the battery.
The lithium-based batteries of the Dobby only take about 25 minutes to fully charge. However, they drain very fast.
The most common complaint regarding the Zerotech Dobby at the battery life is incredibly poor, which in turns affects the user’s flying experience.
The expected flight time for the Zerotech Dobby is about 9 minutes when fully charged, but that will go down to 3 to 4 minutes if you are recording videos.
Though not necessarily their fault – this is, after all, a fairly normal issue – it is still a factor worth considering, especially if you’re interested in making videos.
Despite being its major weakness, I would say if you purchase the Zerotech Dobby knowing all of this before, you probably won’t be too bothered by this problem.
You may want to get other parts as well to limit any downtime.
A good and easy drone to operate, there’s no reason why both beginners and experts shouldn’t have a lot of fun flying this unit.
With a maximum speed of about 22 miles per hour, the Dobby flies very well, even in windy conditions.
There is no stabilizer for the camera, though, which means that your videos might come out very shaky if the Zerotech Dobby itself is not flying smoothly. But you might still manage to get some decent pictures.
There were some people who had trouble with the app.
Some have reported of it crashing which, considering you pilot the Zerotech Dobby through your smartphone, is not great news.
Others seemed to have received malfunctioning drones since they’ve had problems with their units flying out of control or losing contact with the phone or satellite.
However, this is most likely from flying out of the recommended range.
Zerotech Dobby Conclusion
As you can see there are many reasons to get excited about the Zerotech Dobby.
It may be small but will still allow you to take awesome photos and video.
If you are considering purchasing the Zerotech dobby, just make sure you do your homework and learn how to fly it before taking it outside.
