Based in China, GTEN Innovations is the company behind the drone brand UpAir. As their name suggests, they are highly focused on innovation.
Their dream to fly has led them to work with research, develop and manufacturing of drones that they hope to be both professional and affordable.
If innovation is one of their main priorities, then customer service is the other one. Just by taking a quick look online, you can see that they truly take their “Customer Comes First” creed seriously.
Even those who have not had the best of luck with their drones have nothing but praises for GTEN Innovation’s customer services team.
But what about UpAir? Well, as mentioned before, that is the name of the drone brand GTEN Innovation developed with a focus on aerial photography. There are currently four versions available, with the fifth one to be released soon.
So, if the UpAir’s focus is on aerial photography, and GTEN Innovation wants to create professional yet affordable, then how does the UpAir One 2K stack up? Let’s take a look.

The UpAir One drone 2K flight time is something you should pay close attention to. Though it averages a flight time of 15 to 18 minutes when fully charged, it is highly recommended to land and wait for the drone to cool off after 10 minutes of flying.
It is also crucial to be well aware of the weather, especially if you live someplace where extreme conditions are normal.
The working temperature range for the camera may be wide (-10 °C to 50 °C, or 14 °F to 122 °F). But both the UpAir One drone battery and the controller cannot handle temperatures that step outside of the 0°C to 40°C (or 32°F to 104°F) range.
The maximum flying distance for this drone is 800m, with 500m as the limit for video transmission, while the maximum flying height is 300m.
While it doesn’t come with them, you may want to invest in some extra UpAir One drone parts to limit any downtime. Extra propellers and batteries always come in handy.
UpAir One 4K Drone
As you may have guessed it, the main differences that set these two drones apart are related to their cameras.
The UpAir One 4K drone can support 4K video recordings, and is able to transmit images at 800m distance.
It also appears to fly for a few minutes more than the UpAir One 2.7K, but it’s hard to say if this unit also needs to take a break every 10 minutes (in which case, then there’s not a lot of difference).
Oddly enough, the recommended age for the UpAir One 4K is 14 years old. That’s two years less than the 16 years of age recommended by the UpAir One 2.7K.
Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of differences between these two drones. They are both very alike in every other way that isn’t related to aerial photography.
So, whether the UpAir One 4K is worth those extra bucks will depend on if video and image quality is a big factor for you.
So, is UpAir One 2.7 worth the price? Does it live up to GTEN Innovation’s goal of creating drones that are both professional in quality and affordable? Is it worth getting it?
Well… There certainly seems to be a lot of positive. But like with everything else, there were also some negatives. A lot of people seem to have trouble with their batteries, for example.
No matter how good GTEN Innovation’s customer service is, dealing with faulty batteries is always annoying.
There were also some people who encountered some manufacturing problems. More than a few customers had their UpAir One 2.7K fly off into the sunset, never to be seen again.
Either that or they just went out of the control and crashed. Most likely they flew their drone out of range. This is why we always recommend thoroughly getting to know your drone by reading the UpAir One drone manual before taking it outside.
But it’s one of those things that seems to occur often enough for unrelated people to share similar experiences, but not so often that it’s an overly common problem.
Other than that, there are not a lot of complaints. The camera is good, and the drone is easy enough to fly that children and beginners will have no problem learning how to use this unit.
Overall, I believe most people, regardless of age or experience, will probably have a blast flying the UpAir One 2.7K.
Conclusion on the Upair one
As you can see the UpAir One drone is not perfect, however, it is certainly worth considering if you are looking for a quality drone to take photos or videos.
With its decent flight time, this drone will be sure to provide tons of fun to beginners and pros alike.
As always, use your own personal wants and needs to drive your decision. There are several reviews on Amazon, you should at least be able to find a few you can relate to.
