I remember Hubsan joining the Quadcopter industry a couple of years ago, and I am already impressed by their products. In today’s post, I am going to show you one of the firm’s new Quadcopters: my Hubsan X4 Pro review.
Hubsan X4 Pro can be rated on the same level as DJI Phantom because most features on X4 Pro are the same features you’ll find on the prominent DJI Quadcopter. The only prime difference is X4 Pro retails at an affordable price.
Note: this product is not cheap. I won’t be surprised if some drone fanatics think the price will break the bank. My point is, X4 Pro will offer good value for the amount. You won’t regret making the purchase.
Moreover, X4 Pro is the perfect machine for intermediate quad fanatics with a little bit of experience in operating drones.
That said, let us review Hubsan X4 Pro more comprehensively.

Hubsan designed X4 Pro with an extremely lightweight body using durable and sturdy plastic: No wonder it’s a sought after drone compared to most quads in the same price range. Hubsan also armed the quad with a 1080P camera and a 3D camera Gimbal.
As preferred by most photographers, feel free to replace the camera with a GoPro if the one it retails with does not entice you.
The controller is another mesmerizing feature you’ll avail on this product. Hubsan proclaimed that the controller could effortlessly navigate via waypoints, and also comes with GPS features such as return home, hover function, automatic function, and so much more.
Also, Hubsan designed the X4 Pro with the exclusive ArduPilot Mega (APM) autopilot controller which permits waypoint navigation. We have only witnessed this feature in the Walkera QR X350 Pro: and that is because it uses the same controller as the X4 Pro.
Even better, Hubsan fit an android based color screen transmitter to the X4 Pro. This screen transmits FPV (First Person’s View) video footages and can also be used to alter control options.
I love the inbuilt camera which X4 Pro retails with. The camera is Hubsan’s version of a fantastic 13 Mega Pixel High Definition Camera, and it also comes with GoPro configurations. The camera features a three-axis gimbal system with an angle sensitivity of around 0.03: which is identical to what you will find on high-end products such as Yuneec Q500.
X4 Pro’s camera also shoots videotapes in 1080P, which is pretty first rate. This video quality should be enough if you intend to use the quad for recreational purposes. As mentioned before, if this video quality does not meet your standards, feel free to replace it with a GoPro camera.
Most features on this Quadcopter are worth noting. To begin with, the 11.7V 7000 mAh Li-Po Battery is massive for a Quadcopter such as X4 Pro. It is perhaps the largest battery any drones company has ever paced inside 300 sized quads, and that is a feature worth noting.
The Hubsan X4 Pro’s flight time is 35 minutes when the gimbal system is not attached and approximately 25 minutes with the Gimbal connected. These two features make the X4 Pro the quad with the longest flight times and the largest battery in the multi-rotor drones realm.
Hubsan also packed a parachute in the stock variant when manufacturing the X4 Pro. This is the first drone with this feature. Usually, drone parachutes are available, but most of them retail as add-ons.
In case a mishap occurs, or you bump the X4 Pro into a tree or wall, the parachute will automatically pop out to ensure that your Quadcopter does not crash or end up broken. Better yet, you can quickly dismantle and assemble the drone again as many time as you want.
Imagine all these perks and incentives inside such an affordable drone.
Hubsan H109S X4 Pro Vs DJI Phantom
When comparing the X4 Pro against its main competitor in the drone market: DJI Phantom 3. These products share many features, but I am going to touch on the few difference worth mentioning. Firstly, DJI Phantom records video footages in 4K while X4 Pro records its videos in 1080P. That is a plus for DJI Phantom.
Secondly, I’ll touch on the price difference. I believe the price is a golden factor most drone enthusiasts consider when checking out a drone. DJI Phantom’s price on the marketplace surpasses X4 Pro’s price by almost 200 dollars. That’s a definite win for X4 Pro.
Lastly, and this is where it gets interesting, I got more than 1.5 kilometers FPV live feed transmission on the X4 Pro while I could only attain a little over 1.2 kilometers with the DJI Phantom 3.
Given the differences, I think every drone fanatic should contemplate on purchasing the X4 Pro.
What Are Other Saying?
On Amazon, X4 Pro features lots of positive reviews from verified purchases. One client proclaimed that the product had good range, a long-lasting battery, was very stable, and the GPS worked flawlessly.
Another verified purchase even pointed out that the drone is super easy to fly in GPS Mode and that it holds fantastic. He further added that with this product, Proper Calibration is the key, and as long as you have a little experience operating high-end drones, that should not be a problem.
Sure, I agree that X4 Pro is not the best quad in the marketplace right now, and it also comes with its fair share of flaws, such as expensive replacement parts. Nonetheless, regardless of all these “slight” downsides, X4 Pro still symbolizes a sweet refreshment in the quad sector and also stands firm against some big players in the market such as DJI Phantom 3.
