Holy Stone HS100 Review Description
This GPS is the star aspect of the Holy Stone HS100, providing for tons of interesting features. Its accuracy makes the Holy Stone HS 100 a great unit for anyone, giving you the opportunity to fly it without fear of losing it.
The Holy Stone HS 100’s features include:
- Return Home Function
- Follow Me Mode
- Headless Mode
- Altitude Hold
- One Key Takeoff and Landing Feature
One of the Holy Stone HS 100’s most interesting features is the emergency stop. We all know that even when we take extra care with our drones – even when we choose the perfect location to fly under the perfect weather – there are still many factors that are beyond our control.
Emergencies do happen, and the Holy Stone HS 100 is prepared for that. If you hold the takeoff/landing button for two seconds, your drone performs an emergency stop. This can help prevent injuries or crashes.
Another thing to keep in mind about the Holy Stone HS 100 is that it is compatible with 3D VR.
The age recommendation for the Holy Stone HS100 is 16 years and up.
However, I see little reason why those a little younger than that shouldn’t be able to enjoy the Holy Stone HS 100, provided they are responsible and careful when handling it.
Holy Stone HS100 Camera
The Holy Stone HS 100 comes with a 720P 120° FOV FPV Wifi camera. It has an adjustable angle and gives high-quality videos and pictures.
It also has real-time viewing and, as mentioned above, it is compatible with 3D VR.
While there might be other drones better suited for those looking to take aerial photography seriously, the Holy Stone HS100 should work just fine if you’re looking for something to take great quality videos and pictures of your home, family, or your vacation.
Holy Stone HS100 Range
The flying range for the Holy Stone HS 100 is at about 500 meters when in an open and unobstructed space (or roughly 1640 feet).
This is well within average for most drones like the Holy Stone HS 100, giving you plenty of space to fly around.
The GPS features mentioned above help you in case you go too far out of range or the signal gets weak, for the drone will automatically return home.
The accurate positioning (also mentioned above) will also help make sure you don’t lose your drone.
The range for the Wifi, though, is a little shorter. It’s just at 150 meters (or 492 feet) when in an open and unobstructed space. So while still a good range, it’s not nearly as much as the flying range.
Flight time averages at about 12 to 15 minutes, which is pretty much what you could expect for a drone like this. It isn’t overly short, but it’s not a long flight time either.
Holy Stone Charger
The intelligent battery is a lithium-ion battery with a voltage 7.4V and a capacity of 2500 mAh. Depending on the charging power, it can take anywhere between 3 to 6 hours to fully charge your Holy Stone HS 100.
That being said, be very careful to not overcharge this battery. Don’t leave it to charge overnight or somewhere you can’t monitor it.
There was one incident where someone’s battery caught on fire while they were asleep. It’s hard to say what factors contributed to that incident, so be sure to take proper precautions.
